Banda BLACKNING

“THE NEW POTENCY OF BRAZILIAN THRASH METAL.”

(Écio Souza Diniz - ROADIE CREW Magazine - Ed. 211 – August/2016)

Formed in January of 2014 in Santo Andre / SP (Brazil), BLACKNING plays thrash metal with power and energy. Although the influences of the main artists of the style, the band has elements that give its own identity, with the mixing of hard core, heavy and death metal in its music, going from heavy choruses to speedy and catchy riffs.

BLACKNING has in its line-up Cleber Orsioli (vocalist and guitarist), Elvis Santos (drummer and backing vocals), Ricardo Brigas (bassist and backing vocals), musicians with know-how on the road [with albums, DVDs and cassette tape released in Brazil, South, Central and North America, Europe (including Russia) and many tours crossing more than 15 countries], and Zozi Fernando, second guitarist, who had joined the band in April of 2017 to increase the band’s power alive and in studio.

BLACKNING, despite being new, has in its short history two studio albums and one EP released in Brazil and Europe, and two successful national tours. With its first release, Order of Chaos, the band conquered the # 34 position of the best albums releases in 2014, comprehending rock and metal bands from whole continent, organized by the webzine Headbangers Latino America.

Last year, the feat has repeated in the same awards, this time with the latest work so far, ALieNation. Still in 2016, BLACKNING was surprised again and stayed between the best releases of Prêmio Dynamite de Música Independente, one of the greatest music prizes in Brazil, as one of the best heavy metal albums.

After sharing the stage as opening act to the British Onslaught and the Brazilians Krisiun in the year before, the band has invited to play with the legends Sacred Reich (USA) in its first coming to Brazil, and Exciter, one of the most traditional speed metal band in the world, from Canada, in its South American tour.

Now as a quartet, BLACKNING keeps promoting its albums and the newly released EP, Eyes in the Mirror, playing concerts in all over Brazil. The band is going to do its first European tour, in November of 2017, and has many more plans to 2018, definitely writing down its name in the South American metal scene.
